Xi Scholarship for those pursuing a career in Education
The Xi Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society has established the Delta Kappa Gamma - Xi Chapter Scholarship to award one $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior who has an interest in pursuing an educational career or a student who is already enrolled in an accredited teaching program on Kauai. This scholarship will be awarded in recognition of a student's academic achievement, active participation in extra-curricular activities, demonstrated leadership qualities and purpose to pursue a career in education. The scholarship is for one year and may not be renewed. It may be used at any two or four year accredited institution of higher learning. The following criteria will be used in making the final selection (maximum points for each criterion are in parenthesis):
(1) Academic Achievement (20) The applicant's transcript will be evaluated for academic achievement. (2) Application and Personal Statement (20) The applicant should provide a completed application and a personal statement of goals. (3) Recommendations (10) All recommendations must be sent directly to the Scholarship Committee. (4) Other The Scholarship Committee may consider other factors such as the financial need of the applicant. The applicant should have an interest in pursuing an educational career.
